Although role playing games are often the first ones to receive the much needed fan translation treatment, it would appear that a certain Japanese exclusive wresting title for the Sega Dreamcast has jumped the localisation queue. Fire Pro Wrestling D, an entry in the highly acclaimed professional wrestling video game series, can now be enjoyed and grappled in English. Samsung smt-p2110 user manual.
While Fire Pro Wrestling D may not have pushed the Sega Dreamcast to its limits, the 2D fighter from 2001 is a fans favourite due to its intricate grappling system, one which focuses a lot on timed button presses and strategy. Unlike WWF Smackdown on the Sony PlayStation, Fire Pro Wrestling D strips away the glitz and glamour of licensed ring-brawlers and brings back the old-school wrestling feel originally found in the arcades many years ago. This is further emphasised by the isometric sprites on offer, along with the chaotic action earlier polygon wrestlers struggled to introduce. To celebrate the Dreamcast's 14th birthday in North America, the ReviveDC Project has just released their fan translation of Fire Pro Wrestling D for download.
Fire Pro Wrestling is a long-running professional wrestling video game series originating from Japan, started in 1989 by Human Entertainment and continued by Spike in 2000. The series is distinguished by its grappling system, which is primarily based on timed button presses and strategy. Another signature feature of the series is its Edit mode, a character creation feature with many options to customize appearances, wrestling moves and A.I. Unlike many other pro wrestling games, most Fire Pro games are not licensed by any major professional wrestling promotion, but do feature likenesses of real-life wrestlers under different names. Games in the series generally utilize 2-D sprite-based graphics, with some later games incorporating 3-D graphical elements. The spin-off King of Colosseum series features polygonal 3-D graphics.
Most of the titles in the Fire Pro Wrestling series have been released exclusively in Japan, although some of the games have seen releases in North America. Burned with Imgburn at 16x and tested on my PAL console.
Patch 6th July 2016 - Majority of costumes checked and changed. There are still ones I want to re-do but Rome wasn't built in a day! - Slightly unrelated but I am conceding to the school of thought that I can't complete the Fire Pro Anthology for Final Fire Pro. Instead I will create what I will call the 'Extended' save. It'll just be edits of 44 of the 'Hidden head' models. If I have space left, I will include some of the FPW2 characters missing from the game too. I'll start dishing this out with the patch.
24th June 2016 CHRIST! I'm glad that's over. Finally checked every single graphical menu within the game. Edit mode ones SUCK! They look a lot smarter and I've fixed a couple of mistranslated sections here and there. FFPW - 2016 1.2 - 1st June 2016 - Fixes to graphical menus.
Most noticeable, Management of the Ring mode. NJPW Kuniaki Kobayashi Norio Honaga Seiji Sakaguchi AJPW Kaz Hayashi (Alt. A save based on the weekly World of Sport broadcast on ITV, which showed matches from All Star and Joint Promotions. Free 'Big Daddy' Shirley Crabtree Giant Haystacks (Lochness in WCW) Kendo Nagasaki (I ripped him off for the first few years of my career) Mick McManus (Met him at an LDN Legends show once. Clacton I think.) Kung Fu Catweazle (Comedy wrestler) Pat Roach (Wrestler turned actor) Johnny Kincaid (My trainer. Fun fact, once wrestled Inoki in the Korakuen Hall) Old and Misc. The stuff in this section is unlikely to get an update. It's mostly saved from FPC and my old laptops.
Most of the stuff was tidied up and integrated into the patch, so I've not bothered re-uploading it. Obviously something I meant to go back to at some point. It replaces all of the in-game logos with real-life counter parts. The biggest drawback (Other than varying quality) is that they freak out in the Create a Promotion screen when you're choosing. Other than that, they are what they are. NJPW - Looks like I made it in MS Paint nWo - Reasonable AJPW - Meh! Noah - Okay Zero One - Okay Inoki Genome - I found UFO and IGF, which I think was a win in itself at the time FMW - Okay Michinoku - Black and white.
Dragon Gate - Alright WWE - Alright TNA - No worse than something they'd put out themselves AAA - Meh RINGS - I think I remade this from scratch. RINGS were my fed of choice for testing translation stuff so it got first dibs. I think I'm proud of it. Pancrase - Honestly, looks like arse PRIDE - Lame UFC - Okay BatleArts - Okay WCW - Okay Maybe screenshots in the future? This replaces the WPA and AWG logos from the original. At some point they became integrated with the main patch but I thought I'd share them any way.

I did start a rename patch but I kind of lost heart. The modes are pretty awesome though, the Edit management mode is brilliant!
I might have to try my hand at this. I was translating some of the promos from Six Man Scramble, but it got really tiring transcribing by hand, and I wasn't able to find any of the text in the Saturn files.
But I've never exactly been strong at that stuff, either. LordMo wrote:word, word. Does MadEdit support Japanese characters? I'm lost when it comes to text-related anythings. And here's my trusty, dusty tool for kanji: iirc the only unique spinoff-only characters are one UFC guy in the Wonderswan version and the new American version GBA characters, both of which fall outside of your wheelhouse MadEdit supports Japanese. Click the View drop down and change the frst option to SHIFT-JIS.
I think I've got them. Guy Mezger was on the WonderSwan version and the FP2 characters will all be part of a save (1996 - 2002 I think) FYI for anyone waiting for an update Original Japanese. I've just added version 1.1. I'm about one third of the way through fixing and tidying menus. Some that I've 'fixed' may still look wonky but I've done the best I could within the constraints of the ROM.
I can do stuff but I'm no JasonBlackhart by any stretch. I've started to think about costumes for people and have a few ideas, but I'm very much open to requests here. My thoughts were: Active wrestler Costume 1 = Current, Costume 2 = Most recognisable, Costume 3 = Rookie costume, Costume 4 = Odd ball costume or gimmick Inactive/Semi-retired Costume 1 = Most iconic, Costume 2 = Last or Alternative, Costume 3 = Rookie, Costume 4 = Odd ball costume or gimmick MMA Costume 1 = Most iconic, Costume 2&3 = Alternatives, Costume 4 = Odd ball/Pro-Wrestling costume These aren't hard and fast rules, there are only so many tweaks I can make to Fujinami's costumes. That sounds pretty good I was going to make a suggestion about a specific character (Goldust), but I just checked and they're only in the US version, not the JP version. I was gonna suggest you put his 3rd costume as 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes and his 4th as possibly Seven. But as a quick suggestion for Stone Cold: 1 should be the standard 'black trunks, kneepads, boots, wrist bands', 2 should be 'vest, blue jean shorts' version, 3 should be his classic Superstar attire (long tights with yellow and orange 80's pattern on them, white tall boots) and if you want to change his head to one with long hair it could work, 4 could be his 't-shirt with long blue jeans' attire.
My whole thought process was 'There are four costumes, make them as different as possible.' I really hated that the default for 4 was just 1 with a t-shirt almost always. Although WWE was almost my first thought, I have a bit of a Koji Kitao obsession at the moment and I can't explain why.
He's probably going to be first Although I'll try to get all of WWE done in the next update. I'm going to get a few costumes add for the next update I think but I'll also get more of the graphical menus fixed too. Man, Koji Kitao is a fucking awful wrestler and he's also a complete guilty pleasure of mine.
My suggestions? -WAR/UWFI/Kitao Dojo karate gi jammies -2 and 3 split between one of the following: -Pride (karate pants, no shirt, MMA gloves) -UFC (black shorts and MMA gloves) attire -WAR 'serious match' (read: not-taking-it-seriously match) (karate pants and white weightlifting belt, black tank top) -SWS (black tank top, black tights with yellow pattern) -Finally, sumo costume bonus idea: Koji Kitao floated around the rumor that he was auditioning with the NFL after his expulsion from the sumo ranks. Make of that what you will. I would probably do 1. 'serious match' 3. LordMo wrote:man, Koji Kitao is a fucking awful wrestler and he's also a complete guilty pleasure of mine.

Sumo UNCANNY! That's exactly what I went for. Costume 1 is based on his match with Tenryu in WAR (Poor Tenryu), UWFi/PRIDE costume (I watched his Nathan Jones match and one with Yamazaki), WWF/SWS yellow and black (He is just awful), then I watched 10 minutes of the movie the Quest to find him in a sumo costume. He is pretty awful. Although he has a win at Mania, PRIDE, a win over Tenryu and a former yokozuna. I'm going to have a look at his stats to check he isn't a secret tank.
I've just updated the thread. C-Drive's post on the saves board really made me think, I've got some right crap on my laptop which I should probably share. There's nothing really new here (I don't think anyway, I would have posted it on FPC at some point) but I've embedded it into the first post. Vvx traffic generator. Patch update wise, I'm working through tidying edit mode.
I've also stumbled across a fault with Fujinami's logic (There's a 254% chance he will go for a Suplex when going for large damage). I probably won't post much until that's done, there are so many menus in edit mode and so many of them look like crap. Hopefully I can fix some of them at least! I've also posted Part 1 of 7 for the Anthology save set. It covers Combination Tag, 2nd Bout, 3rd Bout, SNES, and FPS.
Fire Pro Wrestling D English Patch
Willie Williams and Yokozuna were thrown in to fill the pack.
